Foreman or Super Permission Required

The items described in this article are only available to users with Foreman or Superintendent permissions.

Prerequisite Info

This document assumes you are familiar with the page layout and basic functions, which are available separately in the Labor Tab Overview.

Intro

The Crew Assignment Procedure covers all essential steps to add missing crew to a Work Order and remove or reassign crew as needed. These steps are performed using the Labor Tab, which requires Foreman or Superintendent permissions in order to make changes.

When To Add Crew

Most of the time, crew will be assigned to a Work Order during the Manpower Planning process, which happens after a Work Order has been scheduled, but before the scheduled date. Field operations are dynamic, so crew assignments may need to change on the day of a Work Order.

Search & Select

Specific users can be searched in the drop down, and multiple users can be selected at a time across several searches. If a user is selected by mistake, they can be removed by selecting their record again on the drop down, or by selecting their green pill above the drop down.

Removing Crew Members

To remove a crew member, their Labor Record’s status dot must be gray, which indicates that no time has been logged to the Work Order by that Crew. Once a labor record has logged a Time Entry on a Work Order, it cannot be removed.

Select its Three-Dot Menu Icon

To remove a Labor Record, select its three-dot menu icon, shown at the far right of each record.

Select “Remove Crew Member”

This will display a small options menu of actions that can be taken for that record. From here, select “Remove Crew Member” to remove their Labor Record from the Work Order.

Removed users Loose Access

This will cause the Work Order to be removed from that user’s Schedule Module. They will no longer be able to access the Work Order, but any changes they have made or notes they have left will not be affected.

Add A Foreman

If a Foreman has not been assigned to the Work Order, one may be added by any user with permission. Select the "Add Foreman" button and choose a Foreman from the list.

Foreman Assignment

A Foreman must be assigned before work begins. The Foreman listed on a Work Order is responsible for the accuracy of all information on the Work Order at the time of CheckOut.

Add A Super

Because of the dynamic nature of field work, a Superintendent may not be assigned to the Work Order. To add a Superintendent, select the “Add Super” button and choose a Superintendent from the list. A Super must be assigned before the Foreman can complete CheckOut.

Be sure to coordinate with a Superintendent before adding them to any Work Order.
